TAILORED TEACHING  Having studied under renown pianists and passionate pedagogues for over two decades combined with years of collaborative experience, Ms Borah takes pride in passing on her knowledge with thoughtful care and dedication, catering to the individual learning needs as she sees fit. Everyone has different "best" way they learn and she enjoys assessing and customizing her curriculum to ultimately aid the pupils to realize their expressive talent and abilities through the instrument.

MINDFULNESS  Ms Borah guides her students to think beyond individual notes and see the patterns and arc of the music in whole with emphasis on focus and mindfulness. As one of her greatest teachers said, she tells her students there's no need to practice for an hour if they can figure out how to accomplish the same amount of work in ten minutes. ⏰

STRONG FOUNDATIONS  As a house cannot stand for long without solid foundations, you need correct techniques to build your musical house (whether it's classical or pop.) Having dealt with tendinitis twice in the past, Ms Borah re-examined and re-calibrated every little details of her technique to be a bullet-proof pianist. Bad habits stick easily but not so easy to get rid of! Mr Justin and Ms Borah will help put your thinking 🎩 on.

CLASSICAL AND BEYOND APPROACH  We all know one glove🧤does not fit all for your musical learning needs. Musical genres beyond classical (often improvised) has become popular and often more relatable in today's society. Classical music's indescribable beauty is slowly revealed and appreciated after years of study and many unfortunately do not have the opportunity to. So, to engage with more students, 🤫 many classically trained pianists (including Ms Borah) try to tread on their basic level of improvisation. You can never say never but it's impossible for classical pianists to have an intimate knowledge of jazz/pop/improv playing as "the brain activity of jazz pianists differs from those of classical pianists..." 🧠 🧠 So, partnering with someone who specializes in that, Mr Justin, we proudly offer "and beyond" segment of your musical learning. His first performance in 🇺🇸 was at Madison Square Garden with Van Morrison when he was 20!!!

CREATIVITY IS NOT DEAD  As today's world gets filled with mind-numbing apps and gadgets, we must fight to get those spontaneous (and not so spontaneous) creative moments back! Brooklyn Piano Lab facilitates a room full of keyboards, synthesizers, (and okay, we will use GarageBand app) to help pour your creative energy into your own soundscape.
